Music is like an eternal flame that is fueled by the human spirit.

Audio Clips

Here are some audio clips in different styles that I recorded in my studio There are also some tracks for you to practice playing along with.

Classical Style

Here is a version of Cannon in D by Pachelbel arranged for acoustic guitar. The guitars in the first part are playing arpeggios also known as broken chords. In the second part there are two guitars that sound similar to violins. I produced the violin effect by rolling the volume control on the guitar from off to on.

Classical Guitar

(nylon string guitar)

Here is a sample of some classical guitar played on my Takamine nylon guitar. The sound that comes from a nylon guitar is very distinctive and provides a mellow tone.

Berkelee College of Music

Here is a solo guitar piece from a book from Berklee College of music called A Modern Method for Guitar, Volume 3 by William Leavitt. The song is mainly made up of three note chords known as triads and their inversions. This is a fairly difficult song to play and worth the effort.

Country Style

This song is in the style of Happy Trails by Dale Evans Rogers. There are three guitars in this arrangement. I have separated the parts so you can hear the individual tracks and how they combine to create the complete arrangement.

Guitar 1

This track is the main rhythm guitar part which is strumming the chords and using an alternating bass pattern. This guitar part sounds good enough to sing the melody over.

Guitar 2

This track is the complimentary rhythm guitar part which fingerpicking the chords. Notice how this track played on it's own doesn't sound that interesting. The interest occurs when this complementary track plays together with the main guitar part. It sounds like I am making mistakes, but in reality this is exactly how I wanted to play this part.

Guitar 1 and 2

This track sounds full and shows how guitars one and two compliment each other. This would make an effective duet accompaniment part for someone to sing the melody over.

Both guitars and the melody

The final track shows how all the parts come together to create a complete arrangement. The chords work well with the melody. The melody in this tune is so strong that it could be played all on it's own!

Blues Style

Here is a fun blues style track to play along with. It is a 26 bar blues progression which is much different than the standard 12 bar blues. There are three different mixes to choose from.

MIX 1

FULL MIX-Rhythm guitar, melody, slide guitar and drums.

An Old Irish Air

Here is an arrangement of a beautiful song called Danny Boy. The song is an old irish air that has been played by many famous artists. The melody and the chords work very well together in this song.

Slow Rock

This arrangement is in the style of the song The House Of The Rising Sun. The song uses a chord progression that simply repeats. The instruments are guitar, bass and drums.

Hard Rock Solo in E minor

This arrangement is in the hard rock style. The whole song has a driving feeling with an aggressive solo. The solo is just a one take jam in E minor.
